Ignited Pennings: Words on fire for the Lord.
It’s funny how God can take what we intended for something so small and limited and turn it into something meaningful. Something greater. Something that serves a higher purpose.
That is Ignited Pennings’ story.
It was founded when I was 13 with ten subscribers getting emails twice a month. I was a young teen with no former platforming experience, and a fiction writer just beginning to try my hand at non-fiction. All I wanted was to build a tiny platform that would help jumpstart my author career – my ideas for it were limited to merely sharing writing updates and maybe some art I made for my books. That’s all. How could I have possibly dreamed it would grow to serve an actual purpose?
It started with just a simple salvation message at the end of my emails. Then it grew; paragraphs turned to commentary, and then to articles. The articles grew larger until everything else was purged from the list to make room for them.
Then, over a year later, Ignited Pennings grew into what I first dreamed it to be – a blog, a website, a newsletter. But most of all, a voice. This world is so full of lies and darkness, and the internet is a breeding ground for Satan’s work. My hope is to be one of many who are choosing to stand up and rebel against the works of the devil, one word at a time.
The messages God puts in my heart are what I write now – I want to do more than chase a dream or build a platform. Though my audience has grown and my voice honed more, neither is my motivation, and I pray it never will be.
Here at Ignited Pennings, you can find articles and posts on the issues that modern day Christians are facing. Most of my work is directed toward Christians ages 13+, but the Biblical truths within them are timeless and ageless, making Ignited Pennings a home for the whole family. You can also find popular children’s movie reviews and the occasional book review, directed toward parents and consumers wanting a Biblical perspective on today’s media.
My writing is far from perfect. But it doesn’t need to be. I hope and pray that the things I write will be a blessing and light to you, but also challenge, convict, and encourage you as a warrior of the King. At the heart of Ignited Pennings is just a girl with a borrowed computer and the same calling every other Christian has: to go into the world and proclaim the gospel. I’m no one special. I’m far from perfect. I am only striving to be the one who answers the Lord in Isaiah 6:8, saying, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
I’m Victoria. Welcome to Ignited Pennings.
